Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas and the girls and Andrew LOVED opening up presents. It was so wonderful that Joshua was home from the hospital on Christmas Eve so he could celebrate Christmas at home with us. I love my house to be clean but growing up when we had Christmas we would open presents and not clean up the wrapping paper until all the gifts were opened. I love that tradition because the kids have so much fun playing in the wrapping paper and then we clean it up when were done opening gifts.

So excited to start opening up presents:)

Thank you to Grandma & Grandpa for the portable DVD player. The girls have had a great time watching shows and having movie night in their room. Andrew wants Brooklyn to let go of him so he can go play lol.

Brooklyn's Dance Recital

Brookie is all about dancing:). She is our dancer in the family and she enjoys taking dance classes and performing. She had her dance recital and it was amazing!!! She was all about the moves and she did such a great job. I am so happy that she loves to dance because my sister and I were always in dance classes when were younger.

Mariyah's Baptism Day

What a Special evening Friday November 4th was for our family. Mariyah was baptized and it was a very unique night outside. As we were getting ready for her baptism a huge dust storm came about and it was so dusty on our way to her baptism. She looked GORGEOUS in her beautiful white dress. Our stake doesn't do stake baptism's and it was neat because she was baptized with her friend Kaylee. Mariyah did great and she wasn't too nervous. Thank you to all the family and friends who came to her Special Baptism Evening.

It's Great to be 8!!!!!

Swimming Time

The girls loved our pool for the summer. Every year I get a pool from Target on clearance for the following summer:). The girls had so much fun with the pirate pool and they played great together. Andrew enjoyed getting wet and at times he would crawl in with his clothes on.

Our Pet Gecko's

Every night on our kitchen window at least 3 up to 5 gecko's hang out. The girls think it's so much fun because they have "pets". We don't have any animals so this is pretty exciting for them. They're the best pets you can have lol. They take care of themselves, eat bugs and they entertain the girls. The girls gave 2 of them names Kylee and Kyle because in the beginning we only had 2 that would come and hang out on the window.

We have lots of chalk that the girls can color with but Brooklyn decided to use a marker.
It did come out which is good.

Mariyah's 1st friend sleepover

The girls had so much fun staying the night. They had pizza, made bracelets and had fun playing. I didn't know that 7 year olds could stay up til almost 2 am lol. They had LOTS of fun and in the morning I made them breakfast and we went to the park.

The girls were happy to help in the kitchen because they got to husk the corn. Andrew thought it would be fun and help too. He kept on taking it out of the trash but it was neat to see the 3 of them working together.

Updating our Family Blog

Life has been quite busy for our family and I am sure it has been for your life too. I have been taking lots of pictures but haven't uploaded them onto the computer until now:). I love blogging and when I keep up with the posts it's also wonderful. When I don't I wish I had so here are pictures of Andrew the past 2 months. I will post again with more pictures of the girls so that I can get caught up on my blogging.

10 months old

He used to sleep on his back but when I have gone in to check on him he has moves to his tummy and he seems pretty comfy.

I was going to get Andrew's jammies and when I came back I found Brookie reading Andrew a book. It was so cute and such a sweet sister.

He looks like he's really into the book:)

Andrew started standing at 10 months on his own and has taken a few steps. It's so cute and whenever he stands we clap and he gets really excited.

Andrew loves to climb into the dishwasher. These pajamas make he think of Where's Waldo lol. After I took the picture I realized he had a knife in his hand. Of course he didn't grab the spoon but the knife.

Joshua has a 2 seater car and Andrew wanted to
sit in it and he fell asleep.

He can fall asleep anywhere. I love it!!!!

He loves to play with bikes and spin the wheels.

Family Vacation to Utah

When we were planning our trip we decided on our way to Utah we would stop in Sedona and stay the night to break up the car ride for the kids. We stayed in Sedona the first night and let me just tell you about our hotel experience. When we first got to Sedona we went to the Jerky Store and got lots of yummy jerky. Then we went to our hotel room which was really nice....well it was nice looking!!! We went swimming, had dinner and watched TV then went to sleep. So at about 1:30 in the morning Andrew woke up to eat and I felt something crawling on me! I said Joshua are you awake and he said yes I said turn the freakin light on because something is crawling on me!!!! Come to find out it was a ROACH! Yes a roach and I wanted to freak the HECK out. I couldn't sleep thinking that a roach was crawling on me agggg yuck ewwwww!! I HATE ROACHES! So finally after laying in the bed wide awake til 4am I finally decided to sleep in the tub. I finally got a few hrs. of sleep and yes I did let the front desk know when we checked out that they needed to spray there room and the whole roach story. So I paid $150 for a roach to crawl on me and sleep in the tub....ahh what a night.

The next morning we went to the Fish Hatchery and the girls had so
much fun catching fish.

What a mean mom I am. I wanted to get a picture of Andrew and instead he went face first into the sand...poor baby boy. He was a trooper and I washed his face asap.

Cedar City Visit
We went to Cedar City where Joshua lived til he was 9 and this is where his Grandparents house was. We knocked on the door and the people who live there now were so nice and let us come in and see the house now.

The girls had fun climbing in the tree that was in Joshua's backyard
when he was growing up.

The tree has really grown in 20 years.

Joshua's Grandpa passed away when he was 7 and we visited his grave in Cedar City. He told us lots of amazing stories of his grandpa and it was neat to hear who is grandpa was and the great qualities he had. The girls learned a lot about their great grandpa as well.

Hurricane Visit
Our next stop was seeing his Grandma Hadley. She was so excited to see us and to meet Andrew and it was nice visiting with her. She lives in Hurricane where Joshua grew up from 9 til his mission. We also visited where Joshua went to High school and we saw where he grew up and it was really fun hearing all the stories he told us of his small town of Hurricane.

We hiked a Moderate Hike at Zion and it was GORGEOUS!!!

Joshua's Great Great Grandpa helped build the tunnel in Zion and yes we had fun screaming in the tunnel and having it echo echo echo lol.

Yay we made it to the top and the girls were happy we made it. It was quite scary
at time with the cliffs but we did it.

Fun pictures and yes Andrew is way to big for the pouch but that's what we
had and he did amazing and it worked out great. He was so happy and loved it!!!

They were beautiful and very refreshing and therapeutic because they have minerals and such that are great for your body.

The "cave" was pretty fun for the girls. The water was really hot so they
didn't stay in this area for very long.

Brooklyn can swim but I had her wear her floaties and I am grateful I did because she about drowned in the Virgin River. It was the scariest experience of my life with her. Joshua and Mariyah were in the river and the current was pretty strong. I told Brookie to wait til Joshua could help her. She decided to go in and I was at the top of the hill and she fell in and the current started taking her. I put Andrew down and ran down barefoot on the rocks and was able to grab her and held tight to her. Joshua hurried out of the river and Mariyah went to stay by Andrew while Joshua got in the river where we were and I handed Brookie to Joshua . I was trying not to cry but I was shaking and had to contain myself until I got out. It was so scary and Joshua said Amy I don't know how you were able to get to her and I said she was definitely being watched over because he watched it all happen and couldn't believe what he was seeing. I love my kids and will do anything for them and I know she was being watched over and that I was suppose to put floaties on her because she hasn't worn them this summer but sometimes we don't know why were suppose to do things but we do and now I know why.

Lake Time

This lake was the best and I wish we had one like this in AZ. So the lake used to be sand dunes so you can go so far walking on sand:). It was seriously a beach feeling.

Story Time

Joshua told us a really neat story about the windows on the Tabernacle in St George. His Great Great Grandpa Peter Nelson lived in Leeds at the time the building was being built and he had saved up money over the years so his family could build a home. Well when he found out that the Tabernacle was being built he felt that he needed to go and see if they needed his money. He traveled and made it there and Brigham Young said your an answer to our prayer because this is the EXACT amount of money we need to finish putting the windows in the Tabernacle. What an extremely Faithful Great Great Grandpa he had.

Advantages to being a Big sister

I laughed so hard when I saw this homemade shirt stapled to Brooklyn. It reads I love you Mariyah. I am a Big fan of you Mariyah your the best sister. Here Brookie had NO idea what it said she was just happy that Mariyah made her a shirt lol. Then later on Mariyah did make one for herself and that was sweet that she said Brookie loved her. I just had to laugh because Mariyah had Brooklyn wearing this shirt around the house and she had didn't know what it said. The saying is cute it's just funny that Mariyah wrote it for Brooklyn haha.

4th of July Weekend in Prescott

This 4th of July was so much fun being in Prescott. The weather was nice and cool and it was nice to get away for a min family vacation. We left Saturday and got home Monday night. We stayed ina a really nice hotel and of course all the girls wanted to do was swim:). We went to the WORLDS OLDEST RODEO and had so much fun. The girls did really good and liked watching the horses and didn't quite understand why the cowboys would want to get chased by bulls lol. We also went to the lake and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the mountains. It was a great family trip and I think we will make this our family tradition every other year for the 4th. We will go up to Alaska next year:).

My parents got chicks in May and in June and the girls have been going crazy over them. They love the chicks and have so much fun playing with them. Matching shirt with the Girls

Last year I went to Dc when I was pregnant with Andrew and Joshua watched the girls. When I got home I had bought the girls and I matching shirts. The other night Mariyah said mom can we wear our matching shirts that you bought us in DC to bed and have a sleep over on the couch. Well since it's summer time I said yes that we could sleep on the couch and it was fun to match my girls:).

The girls were loving every minute holding their sweet baby cousin. My brother and his wife Tami had their 1st baby born on May 29th. She is such a cute baby and so so sweet. They came over to my parents house last week for dinner and told the girls they could hold her. You can see by the excitement on their faces that they are happy. Andrew had a good time and I think he was trying to figure out what was going on and who Arianna was.

Father's Day for Joshua

Father's day was a great morning. The girls and I made breakfast for Joshua. We have church at 9am so we had to get up early so we could make him a great meal:). The girls thought it would be fun to buy star wars plates and cups so we did and he thought it was pretty fun.

Camping in the backyard

The girls and Joshua thought it would be really fun to camp in the backyard so they did:). It was so cute because I could hear them telling stories and laughing and having so much fun. Andrew and I decided to sleep in the house but it was a neat experience for the girls to be "camping" even if it was in the backyard. It's all about making memories and they had a great time.

Pictures of the Kids
I was going to take the kids to get their pictures taken at a studio and then decided to take pictures myself. I had lots of fun and the girls and Andrew were great at smiling and having a good time. Amy's 32nd Birthday!!!!

My birthday was amazing:). In the morning I went out my front door and my mom had surprised me and bought me a cute mat that had flip flops on it and my door was decorated and I had a balloon and a Happy Birthday sign. It was so sweet and my whole day was centered around flip flops with my mom and sister's:). My mom surprised me by making my day a flip flop day. We started out the morning by getting pedicures while my sister Lindsey watched the kids for me:). We also went to Joe's BBQ for some lunch and it was really good.
Then that evening my parents watched the kids while Joshua and I went out to Olive Garden which was so nice to go out to dinner with no kids lol. Then we went bowling and that was lots of fun. I haven't bowled in a long time besides bowling on the kinect but it was really fun.

After we went and got yogurt at Yodipity and they had a huge event with motorcycles and it was neat to be there. Also Drew Barrymore was also there eating dinner at the restaurant.
When Joshua and I got home we pulled up and my house was Heart attacked with Happy Birthday and it was such a fun surprise and when I went in the house my mom and sister and decorated with birthday stuff and I had a cake and a little party with the fam. My birthday was wonderful and a great treat:). We partied til midnight and it was a great birthday celebration with family.

Girl Scout Mariyah

Mariyah has really enjoyed this past year being a Daisy in Girl Scouts. She has learned a lot and it's been a great experience for her. She loved selling cookies, meeting new friends, going to the zoo with her troop, helping plant and sing to the elderly at the care center, being a great example to others and she has advanced into Brownies.
Her Girl Scout Troop had an award ceremony at Peter Piper Pizza and the kids had fun playing. Congrats Mariyah on advancing to Brownies. We love you!!!!

Chores around our house=GUM

The girls love gum so when they do chores they get a piece of bubble gum:). Now that they're older they know not to swallow it which is good and they throw it away when they don't want it anymore. So Joshua came home with all this candy and he bought this huge yard of gum. The girls think it's so cool and they want to do chores all the time so they can get gum:)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a wonderful day. We have church at 9am but when I woke up Joshua had made breakfast and the girls were up and ready to give me my breakfast and gifts. They were still quite tired but happy to be up because they knew it was Mother's Day. I enjoyed getting an individual picture of my 3 kids and it was a great Mother's Day. My sister Lindsey and Sara surprised my mom by going to her R.S at 3 and it was neat to be at church with my mom and sisters. Mother's day was a beautiful day and I am so thankful to be a mom to 3 adorable children. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity of raising and being a mother.

Joshua and the girls were very thoughtful:). I have been wanting a huge hard drive to hold all my pictures and they gave me the sweetest book. Joshua read the story and asked them questions and it recorded their voices and it's such a sweet book.

Andrew is 6 months old today!!!

Andrew is an Extremely happy baby boy and it's amazing that he's already 6 months. He is such a sweet happy boy and he loves to watch everything his sister's do:). He sits up and like to roll over and put toys in his mouth. He is such a joy in our lives and we are so thankful for the blessing he is and we love him tons.

Amazing Easter Egg Hunt
Mariyah's friend in her class invited us to her Easter Party. It was a party full of lots of fun!! We each brought something to help out with the party but overall her mom did so much to make the girls Easter weekend fun. We went to their house this morning and first off the girls decorated Easter eggs then they did crafts and had fun playing in the backyard. They loved it when it was time to find the eggs:). Even Andrew had fun with the baskets and eggs after it was over:). At the end she had all the kids empty out their eggs into a goody bag and who ever had the symbols to the story got another treat. So although the kids enjoyed all the Easter fun they all were able to have a better understanding of what Christ did for each of us. Hope each of you have a wonderful Easter and we have about 3 more egg hunts to go:).

What the Hadley's have been doing in the month of March/April

Look what Mariyah DID!!!

My mom was telling us about a little girl in her class who's house caught on fire. The family lost EVERYTHING! When Mariyah heard about what happened she had money saved up and instead of spending it on herself she wanted to give it to the girl and her family. I teared up when I saw that she made these and money is inside. We also gave the family a lot of the girls clothes because they have 3 girls. It was so neat to see what she did for this family:)

Last week Brookie and I were playing with blocks and we made a "Castle" for Andrew...lol.

Spring Break Snowflake Trip

My amazing friend Beth and her family moved to Snowflake in December:(. We were so sad to see them move because have been such great friends. Mariyah and Kaylee have been best friends since they were babies and now they're both 7. So the kids and I am my sister Lindsey went to Snowflake to visit them and see where they live. The girls had so much fun running around having fun outside, feeding the horses, and loved being outdoors and exploring:). Andrew was such a great baby and traveled great in the car. He is seriously the BEST baby and so so sweet and such a quiet baby. We love that snowflake is only 3 hours away that way we can see them and they also come to the Valley once in awhile so we will still keep in touch.

8 Year Anniversary

We celebrated being married 8 years on January 3rd and Andrew was blessed on January 2nd. I just realized I posted about Andrew and realized I didn't post about our anniversary. Joshua was so sweet and surprised me by taking me to The Melting Pot. We had a wonderful time and it was fun to have our own booth.

SUPER BOWL!!!!

Joshua and his business partner Chris flew out on Thursday to Texas. They're going to be at the Super Bowl:). Joshua called me yesterday and said Chris and him were going to be on live TV. Brooklyn is 4 Today!!!!

Mariyah's new Hair Style

Mariyah has wanted her hair short for a few years now and FINALLY I said ok so here is her new hair style and I LOVE it! You know me and I am all about doing my girls hair and putting bows and flowers in them. Well Mariyah is at an age now where she does her own hair and doesn't always want bows in it. So I had to have some counseling over that lol and she loves her hair.

NEW YEARS EVE!!!

We hosted a fun New Years Eve party at our house. We had lots of Joshua's family come in town for Andrew's blessing so it was fun to have lots of family to spend the New Year's with. Joshua's dad and Teresa and his mom and Thane and his cousins Nick and Tasha came and their kids. We really appreciate the family that came to celebrate this fun weekend and week with us.

Andrew's Blessing Day

What a beautiful blessing for our son Andrew Joshua Hadley. He is such a sweet baby boy and we love him so much. He was given a beautiful blessing and he is such a cute baby boy and oh so sweet. Thank you for all the family that came to support our family and those who traveled to be here. Andrew is growing and is very strong and healthy. He loves to smile!!!! After the blessing we had a great luncheon at our home and it was so wonderful to have family here to celebrate this special day.

Christmas Day

What a wonderful Christmas day for our family. The girls enjoyed opening up gifts and we had fun eating lots of candy and junk food lol. Good thing I got the Biggest Loser Kinect for Christmas so I can work off all the yummy food I ate:). The girls Love their new bikes and instead of writing a novel I am going to write under the pictures. Our ward had an amazing Christmas party. It's our new ward and it was great to meet new people and the girls loved all the fun kid stuff they had. They had a candy store, craft area, the girls sang songs on the stage and they even had Santa. It was an evening full of fun and great memories.

Christmas Dresses

When I saw these dresses a few months ago I knew these were the girls Christmas dresses. I know they're not the traditional red dress but they were way too cute not to get. Plus this is probably the last year I can dress up the girls the same so I justified buying them:). For those of you who knew my grandma you know she would've LOVED the dress. She passed away the end of Feb and it's hard not having her here for the holidays. I love my grandma so much and when I go shopping I think of what I should buy here and then remember that she's not around. I know she's watching over us during this Christmas season. Love you grams:).

Ingrid came to visit

As most of you know I served a mission in Detroit Michigan. The last 3 months of my mission I trained a missionary by the name of Ingrid Olsen. We were called the Olsen twins on the mission and it was so fun having a "twin". She used to have really long curly hair so we did look a little similar. She is from Canada and she came this past week to come and visit our family. It was so wonderful and fun seeing her and having her meet the girls and Andrew. The last time I saw her was when Mariyah was 9 months old. We laughed and had a great time getting together. She was so sweet to the girls and it was so fun seeing her:).

Colleens Visit/Pictures of Andrew & Girls

Joshua's mom came to visit from Alaska and it was wonderful having her here. She was a great help to us and the kids. The girls loved having grandma here and we LOVED having her here for a week. She cooked, cleaned, watched the girls and baby. She did everything I wanted to do but with the c-section and still healing I wasn't able to do everything I normally do. Thank you for coming Colleen and spending time with our family.

Update on Andrew: He met with the pediatrician last week and he is doing great. He now weighs 7lbs. 13oz. and so he is growing and he's a healthy baby boy. He is such a SWEET baby. Seriously he is so quite and so so happy and content. He only gets up once in the night to eat and we feel so blessed that his health is doing so well and his breathing is too.

Pictures of the KIDS together

So I am realizing that I have called Andrew a her a few times and aw she's so cute...then I have to correct myself lol. I have also been saying girls or our girls, the girls and haven't had to say boy before so that's why I titled this post kids. I am sure in time he wont be called a girl because he is all boy:).

I was able to get a few pictures of the girls and Andrew together. Of course they wanted to both hold him but it all worked out.

ANDREW'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew had jaundice for a few days but now the exciting news is that Andrew is home! Were so excited he is home and weren't planning on him coming home this weekend. He is doing amazing and they called us yesterday and he came home last night.

It was sad to see him with his jaundice and with the lights.
I just tried to think of it as him tanning before coming home lol.

When he heard my voice he would lift up his head.

I love the names signs they made for him. It was great seeing him in a regular baby bed at the hospital and not hooked up to all the machines.

Andrew Baby

Last night I went and fed Andrew and he is doing amazing! The nurses are amazed at how well he is doing. He is a strong baby boy and oh so cute. They gave him a bath and he is such a sweetie. They moved his iv from his hand to his foot and the other cords as well.

I am heading home today but he will stay for a week. It will be hard not having him home but at the same time I am grateful that he is getting the care he needs here. I will pretty much stay here everyday for his feedings and spend time with him.

I am able to pump and he is able to eat through a bottle. He is still hooked up to the iv
with vitamins but it's nice to have him get my milk as well.

They gave him a bath and cleaned him all up. This is the 1st time he doesn't have any wiring on his face. He is completely off of the oxygen and doing really well.

I love this face. He feels free bc he had an iv on his hand and they moved it to his foot so
now he can be free and put his hands where he wantes.

Andrew Joshua Hadley

I am sure most of you have heard that our sweet baby boy was born. He came 3 weeks early and he weighed 7lbs. 9oz. He has been in the nicu because his lungs aren't fully developed. He is such a sweet baby boy and we LOVE him so much.

So here is how everything started. On Saturday night and into Sunday(Halloween) I was having lots of contractions and was able to breathe through them and then by Monday they weren't as strong. I was still have swelling in my feet and hands but over all I felt like I was doing much better. My due date was November 24th but my c-section was scheduled for November 17th.
I went into the hospital at noon on Thursday the 4th of November and got hooked up to the monitor and it showed that I was having contractions. They weren't really intense and the main reason I came into the hospital was because I was swollen and felt like I needed to be checked out. From noon-4:00 I was monitored and was dilated more and more. By 4:30 the nurse had called my doctor and said he would be to the hospital by 5:30 to check me and see where my dilation was. My doctor checked me and I was at a 4. He said were doing a c-section and prepping you now. That FAST I had nurses, iv's, the anesthesiologist and off I was to have the baby.

He was born at 6:54pm and he is such a sweet and handsome baby boy. Right after he was born they realized that his breathing wasn't the greatest and that he was struggling to take breathes. During this time Joshua went with the nurses to the nursery for him to get weighed and they ended up keeping him in the nicu. He was immediately put on oxygen, x-rays taken and the tubes began to be hooked up to him.

On Friday afternoon is breathing wasn't getting better and they were getting a little concerned so they did a minor surgery where they put a tube down his throat and put a certain fluid in his lungs. Over time with him breathing in the fluids it has actually helped him and he is doing better. He was in the plastic bubble with 41% oxygen but as of Saturday morning he moved up and had the oxygen through his nose and a tiny tube in his mouth down his throat.

Joshua and I have been visiting Andrew throughout the day and although we haven't been able to hold him we have been able to talk to him and occasionally touch him.

I was so excited today (Sat) because after delivering him 48 hrs. ago I was able to hold him:). I held him for an hour and it was such a sweet moment to be able to hold our precious baby. He even smiled and peeked his eyes open for a split second. I think he knew his mommy was holding him:).

It's Sunday morning now and here's an update on our baby. The girls came to the hospital last night and they were excited to meet their baby brother. Only one person at a time is a loud in the nicu so Joshua took Mariyah 1st then Brookie went next. The girls LOVED seeing their baby brother. They know they can't hold him but they were able to touch him. Joshua's brother and his wife and their little baby girl came to say hi and it was great seeing family. My sister came and it was wonderful seeing her and a Special Thank you to my parents and siblings for helping out so much. Joshua and I greatly appreciate it especially during this difficult time. They have watched the girls and taken great care of our girls while Joshua and I have been at the hospital.

Update on Andrew Sunday night: He did have a tube down his mouth that he pulled out(the nurses said he must not have wanted it in lol). He is no longer in the plastic bubble with 41% oxygen. He moved up and had a tube in his nose which now he is able to breathe better and his lugs are progressing.

Since Andrew was born he was given an iv with fluids in it and that' the only way he has been able to eat. During this time I have been pumping because I want to breastfeed but they haven't been able to give him anything by mouth because of his lungs not being fully developed. Well as of today at 12:30 pm I was able to hold and feed Andrew:). Joshua and I were both in the nicu and it was so wonderful to feed him. I was also able to feed him at 3:30pm and Joshua and I have been able to hold him. What a blessing each of you have been with fasting and praying for our baby boy. Thank you so much. We know that the power of prayer is real and that Andrew is progressing because he can feel the love of those around him.

Baby Shower

My AMAZING friends threw me the best baby boy shower. They spent lots of time organizing the shower and making sure that the shower was a success:) My friend took great pictures and I just got them from her so here goes my baby shower post while I am in the hospital.

Lachelle, Christina, Emily L. and Emily H. threw me the BEST shower. We had it at the Villa Fiesta Clubhouse and I loved all the decorations and the food was so good! Lots of great friends and family were there and I truly felt loved by how sweet everyone was to our family.
