Lesson Learned
So last night Mariyah decided that she wanted to clean the toilet and she used Joshua's electric toothbrush to scrub the toilet. We were in total shock because she's NEVER done that before so we told her that since she did this she needed to buy dad a new toothbrush with her money out of her piggy bank. She was all excited and took the change out($25 in change) and put it in a bag to take to the store. I don't think she realized that her money wasn't going to be buying herself a toy but buying a toothbrush. I think it's a great lesson for her and I don't think she will ever try to scrub the toilet with any one's toothbrush anymore.
*Now what's really interesting about her doing this is that I received an email about how a wife wondered why her husband never got upset when she asked him to clean the toilet and he said because each time I clean the toilet I use your toothbrush. Maybe Mariyah overheard me telling Joshua this story and thought she would try it:)*

too cute and yet so gross all at the same time! did you really make her use her money to buy a toothbrush? if so, you are a lot stronger than i am, good for you! i make tons of threats but have a hard time following through. love her pic though holding the bag of cash.

Great job mom! Following thru is a tough thing, but she'll thank you someday! Hey, you've been tagged! Check out my blog for the details ;)

I love that you made her use her money to buy a new toothbrush. That's such a good lesson and I think she'll think twice before doing something like that again. :)

Too funny and good for you for turning it into a lesson on consequences.

Right on! We have had to teach lessons the same way... although not after using someone's toothbrush to scrub the toilet! At the same time... that is great that she was "helping" (in her own way) Gotta keep her up with that!

I bet she's wasn't smiling that big at the store! :) Hopefully it was a lesson learned...or if not, hopefully she doesn't try that again with YOUR toothbrush! Ahh! Kids are cute nonetheless!

Wow, she really does look happy about going to get dad a new toothbrush. Thank goodness for a full piggy bank!

Hey Amy, Hopefully that was the first time she cleaned the toilet with Joshes toothbrush, poor Josh if not.
I am super bummed that we are not all getting together this weekend. Poor G-ma and G-pa. They have really had a tough year. Hopefully the whole family can get together before too long. We miss you all. Hope all is well with the AZ crowd. Love ya!!!! Loves, natalie.
